The eth (/ˈɛð/, Capital: Ð, lowercase: ð; plural: eðar or eðir; feminine: edda; masculine: eddi; neuter: eddu) is a letter used in Old English, Middle English, Icelandic, Faroese (in which it is called edd or edh), and Elfdalian. It was also used in Scandinavia during the Middle Ages but was subsequently replaced with dh and later d. It is often referred to as the 'hard th' or 'voiced th'. The letter eth is a small letter with a horizontal line through the middle.
